2026  Scholarship Application


Continental Societies, Inc.®, is a not for profit 501(c)(3) international service organization.  It was founded as a national organization in 1956 by a group of energetic and dedicated service-oriented women. These women structured an organization to foster, promote and develop the welfare of under-served children and youth.

Its membership includes professional women who are dedicated to working with children to ensure that they experience a better tomorrow.
The 16th National President of Continental Societies, Inc.® is C. Lillette Green Campbell.   

Continental Societies, Inc.® awards five Scholarships to deserving young people – one in each of the four regions of the Societies, and one National recipient.
Scholarships are awarded in June.  Applications must be submitted as follows:

    • Applicant must be a graduating high school senior attending college for the first time. 
    • Applicant must have applied to and been accepted by a four-year college or university.
    • Applicant must use a Google email account to the upload files for this application
                                       

SELECTION CRITERIA

Each applicant must submit a Essay (500-750 words). The essay should include the following:

  • Short-term and Long-range goals, Plans for Educational Support (financial, academic, etc.), Organization (writing is confident and clearly focused), Vocabulary should reflect a strong Introduction, Body, and Conclusion with clear transitions, a clear point of view, consistent sentence structure, use of consistent agreement between parts of speech.
  • A statement identifying why the applicant should receive the Scholarship,  and a compelling statement of financial need.
  • Personal Achievements including honors and awards. 
  • The applicant's must have a personal interview with the local Chapter Scholarship Committee/Chair or President and provide a picture suitable for publication.


ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI) POLICY (2026)

Acceptable Uses (AI as a Thinking Partner)

  •   Brainstorming & Ideation: Generate topic ideas or prompts.
  •   Outlining & Structure: Create templates or outlines.
  •   Technical Refinement: Grammar and punctuation checks.
  •   Critical Feedback: Identify logical weaknesses and suggest improvements.
Prohibited Uses (The Red Line)
  •   Drafting or Generating Content: Submitting AI‑generated paragraphs, drafts, or full essays as original work.
  •   Fabrication: Inventing personal anecdotes, experiences, or credentials.
  •   Substitution for Thinking: Relying on AI for critical analysis that should reflect the applicant’s own reasoning.
Disclosure & Detection
  • Disclosure: Applicants must disclose AI assistance where requested.
  • Detection Tools: Reviewers may use AI detection and plagiarism tools; flagged submissions will be reviewed for voice mismatch.
  • Responsibility: Applicants are fully responsible for factual accuracy and originality.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Copy of College Acceptance Letter(s)
  • Official High School Transcript (must have school’s official stamp or seal)
  • Official Post-Secondary Advanced Placement Transcripts (must have school’s official stamp or seal)
  • SAT or ACT Scores, GPA, Class Rank
  • Three of four Reference Statements (Written or Video submissions):
    [1] Pre-Career/Employment Leader, [2] Community Leader, [3] Cultural Organizational Leader, [4] Commerce/Entrepreneurial Leader
  • List of Memberships and Affiliations, Honors and Awards
  • Signed Ethics Statement of Scholar and Parent(s)
  • Photo, Video, Audio Consent, and Release Form

CHECKLIST AND ENDORSEMENTS

  • Applicants must apply through a local Continental chapter and advance through the Regional level in order to compete for the National Scholarship.

  • Each applicant must complete, meet and attach the Scholarship Application eligibility requirements verifying all components submitted, and agree to comply with scholarship requirements.

  • Eligible scholarship applicants must verify submissions with a signature where indicated and/or signed by a Parent/Legal Guardian(s) and the applicant. (Electronic Signatures are permitted).                
  • Photo, Video, Audio Consent and Release Acknowledgement.
