The Continental Society of Bermuda is an affiliate chapter of the Continental Societies Incorporated which is an international public service organization committed to improving the welfare of children in communities across the USA and Bermuda.
Founded in 1962 (Charity # 6), the Continental Society of Bermuda is supported by 100% volunteer membership of approximately 30 Bermudian women. Our members are concerned about the welfare of Bermudian children and bring immense dedication to this charity’s mission, enhanced by their varied backgrounds, expertise and experience which includes business, government, education and social welfare.
We have numerous programs which we use to execute our mission. Our aim is to improve the lives of all children in Bermuda, with a focus on those in underprivileged situations. The Continental Society implements its objectives through a 5 pronged program (HEER) covering health, employment, education, recreation & arts and humanities. In addition, we assist numerous families with grocery vouchers, school uniforms and summer camp costs. Most referrals for this type of assistant are received through social workers, teachers and guidance counselors.
